Our team take immense pride in seeing our pipe put to work right in our own backyard. That’s why we are excited to about our high-performance, large-diameter HDPE pipe being installed for the next major phase of the Iron Horse Piping Project.
This milestone follows the recent recognition of Phase 1 as a "Top Project" for 2025 by the Daily Journal of Commerce. Today, that momentum continues as we work alongside the Ochoco Irrigation District (OID) and Taylor Northwest to replace aging, open-canal systems with advanced, leak-proof piping technology.
Precision Engineering for Modern Water Distribution
The Iron Horse project represents a significant shift in agricultural water management—transitioning from inefficient open ditches to a fully sealed, high-efficiency delivery system. For this phase, crews are utilizing Krah USA’s custom-engineered structured wall pipe to ensure long-term reliability.
By implementing the Krah system, the District achieves:
Immediate Water Conservation: The transition to Krah HDPE eliminates seepage, ensuring that every gallon of water is preserved for its intended use rather than being lost to the ground.
Structural Integrity: Our pipe is engineered to withstand specific soil loads and environmental demands, offering a maintenance-free service life of over 100 years.
Advanced Joining Technology: Through our proprietary electro-fusion welding, the installation creates a monolithic pipeline that guarantees zero-leak performance even under pressure.
“There’s a unique sense of pride that comes with seeing our pipe loaded onto a truck at our Prineville plant and installed just a few miles down the road. This project is a perfect example of local businesses and districts working hand-in-hand to solve a shared challenge. By piping these canals, we aren’t just supplying a product—we’re working with our neighbors to ensure that every drop of water in our high desert stays where it’s needed most: supporting our local farmers and the future of our community.” -Whitney Danos (Marketing Director)
The Krah USA Advantage: From Plant to Project
Manufactured at our facility in Prineville, Oregon, our HDPE pipe provides a level of durability and flexibility that traditional materials cannot match.
Synchronized Logistics: Our proximity to the project allows for a streamlined supply chain, ensuring pipe is delivered and installed efficiently to meet aggressive construction schedules.
Custom Profiles: Every section of pipe is manufactured to the exact stiffness and flow requirements dictated by the project's engineering specifications.
Sustainability in Action: Beyond the immediate water savings, the use of HDPE—a recyclable and long-lasting material—aligns with global standards for sustainable infrastructure development.
A Commitment to Infrastructure
As this phase moves toward completion and operation for the upcoming irrigation seasons, Krah USA remains dedicated to the project's success. As a leader in the HDPE industry, we continue to deliver the infrastructure that modern, global water management demands.
